ASGA Tour Announces Qualifying School for the 2004 Tour




Elizabeth City, NC (PRWEB) February 13, 2004-–The ASGA Tour, Inc. announced today that sites and dates have been scheduled for the 2004 Tour Qualifying School for both the Pro-Net and Pro-Championship Divisions at select golf courses around the country between March 8 - 26. Pro-Net players, 18 years of age and older, will compete with their handicaps (0-36) in 36-hole Qualifying School competitions to earn full exempt status on the 2004 Tour. Pro-Championship players, 48 years of age and older who are either former PGA professionals preparing for the Champions Tour or non-exempt players on the Champions Tour, will also compete in 36-hole Qualifying School competitions to earn full exempt status on the 2004 Tour. All players who earn full exempt status in either division will be eligible to play in all 15 Tour events and compete for significant prize money.

The ASGA Tour is providing the unique opportunity for any golfer who has dreamed of playing on the Tour to now actually compete for significant prize money throughout the year in a real tour-event atmosphere with electronic leader board, gallery, real-time scoring, hospitality center and national television coverage on FOX Sports Net.

Once a player has qualified, entry fees for 2004 events will be $100 with event purses of $30,000-$60,000 in the Pro-Net Division and $60,000-$100,000 in the Pro-Championship Division. Each of the Divisions will compete separately during ASGA Tour events in 2004.

Qualifying Schools will be held at golf courses all over the country as per the following schedule:

Players who enter Qualifying School and fail to earn exempt cards to compete at regular Tour events in 2004 will be automatically enrolled as a member of the United States Pro Golf League (USPGL), a division of the ASGA Tour. USPGL members will be able to compete in local tournaments in their nearest Section (States) and Chapter (cities or regions within a State) for prize money and at “Major Monday” Events conducted in connection with regular ASGA Tour events throughout the year. The top points leader in each Section will earn their Tour card and be fully exempt on the 2005 ASGA Tour.
