ASGA Tour Events to Air Exclusively on The Golf Channel

Elizabeth City, N.C.(PRWEB) July 21, 2004 -- The ASGA Tour, Inc. announced today a multi-year partnership with The Golf Channel that will include the broadcast of all ASGA Tour events and USPGL Section Championships during the 2004 and 2005 seasons under its program title “54 Holes to Sunday.”

The agreement between the ASGA Tour and The Golf Channel includes the airing of 30-minute highlight shows of all 15 tournaments during this season and all 25 events during the 2005 season; with one additional re-air of each event, totaling 80 shows over the next two years. The Golf Channel, which owns worldwide broadcast rights, will air the events nationally in both the United States and Canada.

“We are extremely excited about working with The Golf Channel,” said Tom Kidd, CEO, ASGA Tour, Inc. “We view this partnership as a perfect fit and a great way to maximize our visibility and deliver significant value to our partners. The Golf Channel will take the ASGA Tour to the next level by providing an international platform to showcase the high-level of competition on our tour and also provide players of all skill levels with the opportunity of playing tournament golf inside the ropes with the atmosphere of the big tours. We look forward to discussing an expansion of our program and contract extensions with The Golf Channel for 2006 in the near future.”

Each show appearing on The Golf Channel will include highlights of 54 holes of golf competition over a three-day tournament. The 2004 season begins in late August in Atlanta and culminates with the National Championship at Desert Pines Golf Club in Las Vegas from February 10-13, 2005.
